“Transformers 3″ director corrects release date

There will be a “Transformers 3,” but its release date is turning out to be less than certain.

On Monday, Paramount Pictures scheduled the DreamWorks-produced “Transformers 3″ for July 1, 2011, even while acknowledging that no cast had yet been hired. On Tuesday, director Michael Bay took issue with the date.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ gives ABC a boost in Nielsen ratings

“Dancing With the Stars” drew its largest season-premiere audience, but less than half the viewers stuck around to watch the debut of mystery drama “Castle” that followed last Monday on ABC.

The two-hour “Dancing With the Stars” premiere averaged 22.83 million viewers, ABC’s largest audience in the Monday 8 to 10 p.m. slot since New Year’s Day 2001.

American Idol Eleven Go Country

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Hey, y’all. And top o’ the evening. (That’s a combo greeting to mark both Grand Ole Opry night on American Idol and St. Patrick’s Day.)

The remaining 11 contestants lent their pipes to the twang and pluck of country music Tuesday, usually a theme that leaves at least half of the finalists floundering—though an inevitable few end up transcending genre boundaries and cementing their star quality.

The rock opera returns thanks to ‘Decemberists’

Rock operas went out with bell bottoms and shag carpeting - for good reason. Other than a few starry highs (“Tommy” and “Quadrophenia”), the form largely shoved down the world’s throat indigestible bloat like “Thick As a Brick,” “A Passion Play” and, yes, “The Wall.”
